There's a new technology that is about to shake traditional political communications to the core. We've talked about Video Email before, but new ways to use the technology are popping up that are becoming new "killer apps." One such application is for elected officials to use Video Email to get out unfiltered news regarding such things as status reports, issue alerts, emergency updates, special event announcements, meeting notifications, project funding announcements and even video clips of press conferences or meetings. The beauty is that public officials no longer have to use expensive television studio time to do something they can do right at their own desks (with a desktop webcam and microphone) and they can place automatically generated links in email or on their websites. It can be done on the fly and includes not only your webcam presentation, but PowerPoint and videos as well. We believe a number of local, state and federal officials will adopt this Video Email as an important part of their political communication strategy and tactics.
